May 7, 2019 – St.Catharines, ON — On May 7, The Niagara Home Builders’ Association, held their annual Presidents’ Dinner and Wall of Fame Ceremony at Hernder Estate Wines in St.Catharines, Ontario. This event paid tribute to past NHBA Presidents, as well as saw the induction of two additional nominees into official Wall of Fame designation.

“This yearly dinner pays tribute to distinguished NHBA members who have made lasting contributions to the association, as well as the home building industry and their community as a whole” commented NHBA President Tony Alfieri.

This year’s inductees included Vito Passero, founder of Silvergate Homes / SilverLine Group, as well as local business man Don Ward, a pioneer of commercial development within the Niagara Region, who unfortunately passed away in November of 2017.

Don’s memory and legacy were honoured, as his business and personal contributions to the Niagara Region were spoken to at the awards ceremony in front of a crowd of former partners, colleagues, friends and family.

At 81 years young, Vito Passero was in attendance, and was truly touched by the honour as he spoke about his family run company’s 35 year history within the region.

With over 100 guests, the evening also acknowledged attendees from the Ontario Home Builders Association, as well as partnering organizations.

Don Ward’s family was on hand to accept the wall of fame award, and both recipients will see their name(s) added to the main plaque that is housed at the NHBA office in St.Catharines.
